Declaration of Special or Non-Standard Items

Some treasures need a little extra "Captain" treatment. Use this form to flag heavy or fragile items for a seamless transition.

Your Move, Handled with Care.

To properly plan your move, the client must declare any heavy, fragile, high-value, or non-standard sized items.

Certain items may require:

  • Additional movers

  • Specialized equipment

  • Specific disassembly

  • Hoisting via balcony

  • Additional fees

Please indicate all applicable items below.

1. Very Heavy Items

Furniture made entirely or partially of:

  • Marble / Granite / Quartz

  • Ceramic / Travertine / Stone

  • Mirrored surfaces / Tempered glass

  • Steel / Solid wood

Specific Items:

  • Billiard/Pool table

  • Large plants

  • Piano

  • Electric or medical beds

  • Safe

  • Hot tub / Spa

  • Exercise equipment (Gym)

  • Solid wood furniture

  • Extra heavy sofas (+200 lbs)

  • Industrial machinery (Workshop, woodworking, sewing, etc.)

  • Heavy generator

  • Non-standard appliances (+380 lbs)

  • Commercial printer or industrial photocopier

  • Scooter / Motorized vehicle

Note: Any object exceeding 250 lbs (113 kg) must be declared.

2. Very Fragile Items

  • Tables made of: Marble, Granite, Quartz, Ceramic, Travertine, Stone, or Tempered glass.

  • Furniture with: Mirrored surfaces or glass components.

  • Large frameless mirrors.

  • Artworks: Sculptures or fragile decorative objects.

  • Plants or trees.

  • Musical instruments.

  • Televisions: Over 55 inches or ultra-thin models.

  • Glass aquariums.

  • Grandfather clocks.

Note: Any item that is particularly fragile or requires special handling must be declared.

3. Very Bulky Items

  • Large non-detachable sofas (3-seaters or more).

  • Non-split King-size box springs.

  • Large dining tables (with extensions).

  • Canoes / Kayaks.

  • Large armoires / Wardrobes (3 doors or more).

  • Antique or imported furniture.

Note: Any object exceeding 2 meters (6.5 feet) or requiring hoisting by balcony or crane must be declared.

4. High-Value Items

The client acknowledges and accepts that certain high-value items should not be transported by Déménagement Le Capitaine Inc. and must be handled personally by the client.

These items include, but are not limited to:

  • Jewelry and personal documents

  • Artworks and sentimental items

  • Antiques and collectibles

  • High-value musical instruments

  • High-value electronic equipment

  • Safes containing valuables

Client Acknowledgment: I understand that these items must be transported by myself and remain my responsibility, unless previously declared to and accepted by

 

Déménagement Le Capitaine Inc. If I possess such items and cannot transport them myself, I commit to declaring them in advance.

​​5. Items Requiring Special Disassembly or Disconnection

Our moving teams do not perform the disassembly of the following items:

  • Murphy beds (Wall beds)

  • Large wardrobes (3 doors or more)

  • Very delicate furniture

  • Pool tables

  • Spas / Jacuzzis

  • Antique or imported furniture requiring specialized handling

  • Home gym modules

  • Swings or suspended structures

  • Large wall-mounted bookshelves

  • Modular or built-in cabinets

Important: These items may require a specialist for disassembly before the movers arrive.

Appliances connected to a water source: Our teams do not disconnect appliances connected to water lines.

  • Examples: Dishwashers, washers, dryers with steam/water hookups, refrigerators with water/ice lines, water filtration systems.

The client must ensure these appliances are emptied and disconnected before the movers arrive.

Client Declaration

  • I confirm I have declared all heavy, fragile, or non-standard items.

  • I understand that certain items may incur additional fees based on weight, size, fragility, or required equipment. 

  • I understand that undeclared items may result in: additional fees, service delays, or a limitation of the carrier's liability. 

  • I understand that items requiring a specialist must be disassembled in advance, and water-connected appliances must be disconnected. 

Déménagement Le Capitaine reserves the right to refuse or postpone the transport of undeclared objects requiring specialized equipment or additional personnel.
